Eucharist is the Sacrament that adds to the Initiation Process by welcoming the baptized to the Table of the Lord to receive Christ’s Body and Blood. In this Sacrament, we remember the action of Jesus at the Last Supper when he blessed and broke the bread and shared it with his disciples. The Eucharist is an act of Thanksgiving which is celebrated in Communion with one another, most often at the Weekend Liturgy (Mass).

First Eucharist at the Church of St. Joseph is celebrated in the Second Grade year. A letter is sent to parents of second graders in the fall with more information about preparing for this Sacrament. The Preparation Program is family-based with primary emphasis on parent/child projects to be completed at home, with information session and parent/child workshops at Church. First Eucharist is typically celebrated in the Spring. Attendance at Faith Formation K-8 is required for preparing for First Eucharist.
