Like all Sacraments, the preparation for, and celebration of the Sacrament of Marriage is grounded in the life and ministry of the Parish. As primary ministers of the Sacrament, the couple benefits from the experience and support of the community. At the same time, the couple’s love for each other gives the community a glimpse of Christ’s love for the Church, and thus is a blessing and support to the Parish.
The actual Marriage Preparation begins a minimum of six months before a couple’s wedding date. Marriage at the Church of St. Joseph requires that either the bride or groom or the bride or groom’s parents be registered members. Prior to having your wedding date reserved at the Church of St. Joseph, you are required to meet with the Pastor. During that meeting, you will be given information describing the Marriage Formation Process and will complete a pre-nuptial questionnaire. The Church of St. Joseph can also help parishioners planning to get married at another Church.
