Funerals

Forming disciples to know, love, and serve God.

At this time of your loss, we pray that the Lord will console and guide you as you prepare the funeral liturgy for your loved one. Our faith helps us to understand that the death of a person is a transition rather than simply an end. When Jesus rose from His death, he brought with Him the hope of eternal peace for each of us.

The information found here will assist you in planning the funeral liturgy including:

  • Scripture readings from the Old Testament, New Testament and Gospels
  • Catholic liturgical music for the Mass

Funeral Pre-Planning

Pre-planning a funeral gives you the opportunity to provide for your family the guidance when it comes to your passing. This is a classic spiritual practice to reflect on and be prepared for death and life eternal.
In order to make arrangements to pre-plan your funeral reach out to Alyssa Warner, Liturgy Coordinator, awarner@stjosephredwing.org   A copy of your complete pre-planning form will be kept in the Parish Office. Another set of copies should be given to a family member, as well as the funeral home if you bought a funeral package from them.
